Lash Extensions and Eyelash Treatments
 | Unlike traditional false lashes that feel heavy and uncomfortable because they are crudely stuck to the eyelid. Lash extensions are applied individually and directly to one of your own lashes. This makes them look natural and also makes them extremely comfortable to wear. They give you longer, thicker and lusher lashes. |
Our eyelash treatments on the other hand are so light that you just cannot feel them. They are applied individually directly to one of your own lashes. This makes them look very natural and also makes them extremely comfortable to wear. These lash extensions last as long as your own lashes. They are darker than your own lashes so you don't need to wear mascara with them. You can shower, swim, exercise, sleep and cry with them on. They will not fall off!
* Lash extensions should only be applied by a trained professional.
How Lash Extensions are Applied
The actual procedure is quite comfortable and relaxing. You lie down with your eyes shut for about an hour and a half. You may even fall asleep as you can hardly feel the false lashes being applied. To maintain your new longer, fuller lash extensions look we recommend that your lashes are retouched every 2-3 weeks to replace the shedding of your own natural lashes. This is usually a half hour appointment. They can be removed quite easily and painlessly by a qualified technician using specialist lash extensions removal fluid should you no longer wish to have them. | |
Lash Extensions After Care
The first 48 hours are very important as the adhesive needs time to cure properly. For at least 24 hours after the treatment the lash extensions must be kept dry. Do not use any mascara other than the one we provide and then to the mid/end lengths only. Remove mascara with fingers and warm water only by sweeping upwards.
- The mascara will lift off.
- Never use cleansers.
- Do not rub your eyes.
- Don't frequent saunas, steam rooms or swimming pools too often as routine exposure will lift the bond.
- Avoid the use of oils or creams near the lash line and never over the lashes. Use a cotton bud near to the lash line.
- Do not rub or pull the lash extensions.
- If a lash becomes crooked just hook it onto the next lash along or trim it slightly.
- Never attempt to remove them on your own, always get your technician to remove them for you.
- Only use oil free make up remover around the eye's to remove make up but never over the extensions. Use a cotton bud to remove make up near the lash line.
- Do use long life coating every 2/3 days this will protect the bond from moisture penetration.
Eyelash Extensions FAQ
Do eyelash extensions damage your natural lash?
- No they do not damage your natural lash unless the aftercare treatment has been neglected or incorrectly carried out.
Is it painful?
- It is not at all painful in fact a lot of people are so relaxed that they fall to sleep during the treatment. The only thing you have to do is lie down with your eyes shut for one and a half to two hours. When you open your eyes you will be amazed and you will have beautiful long lash extensions.
Can anyone have eyelash extensions?
- If you have no existing eyelashes or you pull your lashes out then this treatment is not for you. Nor is it for the person who has little time to spend on maintenance. Or anyone who has regular saunas or steams as excessive exposure to heat and steam can cause the bonding agent to loosen. The occasional short visit to the sauna or steam room is not a problem.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
- The average life cycle of a single lash is 90 days. So the maximum your lash extensions will last is 8 weeks. However not every lash will last 8 weeks, it will depend upon your own natural growth cycle and the age of the lash it is placed on. So if an old lash falls out your extension will go with it.
Why do you have to maintain false lashes?
- When the technician initially attaches your lash extensions they will not know the age of the original lash, therefore you will probably start loosing some of the lashes within the first 2 weeks. So if you want your lashes to continue looking full and fabulous you will need a maintenance appointment every 2-3 weeks.
How long does it take to put eyelash extensions on?
- The length of time will very much depend on the type of look you want to achieve; usually it is between 1 and a half to 2 hours. However your maintenance appointment will usually only take about 30 minutes.
How can I remove make up?
- Make up should be removed using a non-oily eye makeup remover using a damp cotton bud. Yes we sell a special formula mascara that washes off with water.
Do you have coloured eyelash extensions?
- Yes we have a variety of colours available which can be mixed in with the black lashes to give a different subtle look.
Do I need to get my lashes tinted before hand?
- Tinting is not necessary unless the natural lashes are extremely light.
Can I wear contact lenses?
- We recommend that any contact lenses be removed before the treatment as a general precaution. Although they can be replaced as soon as the treatment is finished it is advisable to wear glasses for the first 24 hours or so as not to disturb your new eyelash extensions.
What are they made of?
- They are synthetic polyester strands that have been shaped and polished to mimic the natural lash so as to appear natural.
